Media body to take up threats to Pak journalists at EU parliament
RAWALPINDI: The Reporters Without Borders (RWB) has said that threats to renowned Pakistan journalists Ansar Abbasi and Shaheen Sehbai will be taken up in the European Union parliament and demanded of the Pakistan government to unearth elements behind the threats and award them exemplary punishment.
The world journalists organisation strongly condemned life threats to Group Editor The News Shaheen Sehbai and Editor Investigations Ansar Abbasi and defamation campaign against them and announced to take up the issue in European Union parliament, court and media.
In its statement in French newspapers, the RWB urged the Pakistan government to unearth the elements behind threats to two senior journalists and take action against a private TV channel for their character assassination. The media body assured journalists of its complete support in litigation at the world level.
