Media and social change
THE media has historically proved to be a multiplier of ideas for social change if we study global examples. Likewise the media in Pakistan can play a major role both in improving the overall state of development and addressing the poverty of ideas.
Media can conduct in-depth investigative stories exposing faultiness in the model of development being pursued in the country.
If people are aware and alert it would become difficult for power interest groups to sway the government into accepting their unfair demands. In short, the media can involve the biggest stakeholder, the people, in managing economic affairs of the country.
