Marvi Cultural Centre inaugurated at Bhalwa village of Thar Desert
Mithi: Sindh Culture Minister Ms. Sassui Palijo inaugurated on Friday the Marvi Cultural Centre at Bhalwal village of Tehsil Nagarparkar, district Tharparkar. The Bhalwal is home village of legendary character Marvi.
The project has been completed at the cost of Rs.14 million to promote cultural activities in the area. The culture department organizes annual festival ‘Marvi Melo’ here every year.
Sassui Palijo also visited the historic well from where the King Umer had forcibly taken away Marvi but she refused to marry him, rejected luxurious life and preferred to be with her poor parents and village people.
