Martyred journalists laid to rest

The Namaz-e-Janaza of three journalists, who were martyred in a powerful bomb blast during coverage of an earlier bomb blast incident last day, have been offered on Friday and they were laid to rest in graveyards of their native areas. The three journalists who sacrificed their lives during performing their duty included, Saifur Rehman, Reporter, Imran Sheikh; Cameraman both belonged to a private TV channel and Iqbal Hussain who worked in a news agency.

A powerful bomb blasts took place at a snooker club on Alamdar road in the provincial capital on Thursday night that left over 80 people dead and dozens of other’s injured including journalists, police officials, rescue workers and citizens. Imran Sheikh and Iqbal Hussain said to die on the site after receiving fatal wounds and rescue workers shifted Saifur Rehman to Combined Military Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Namaz-e-Janaza of Sheikh was offered at Railway Eidgah and he was laid to rest in graveyard of Muslim Town. He left aggrieved parents, two little daughters and widow behind. The body of Saifur Rehman was brought to Karachi and he was also laid to rest in graveyard after offering of his Namaz-e-Janaza. He left behind three little sons and widow. Namaz-e-Janaza of Hussain was offered in Nichari Imambargah and he was laid to rest in graveyard of Alamdar Road Marriabad area.
