Man tortures wife to death
ISLAMABAD, Aug 25: A newly-wed woman was tortured to death by her husband here on Wednesday, police said.
The incident took place in Naval Complex, Sector E-9.
Muniba Zainab, 20, a resident of Ghosia Mohalla, Chaklala fell in love with Asif Khan, 24, a native of Peshawar and married him in court against the will of her parents on August 2.
Asif Khan brought the woman to his mother’s house in Naval Complex, and both started living there.
As Asif Khan was jobless, he started demanding money from his in-laws. Initially, the father of Muniba Zainab, a fruit vendor, met the demand but later on he refused due to his own financial problems.
This infuriated Asif Khan and he started beating his wife. On Wednesday he again beat his wife badly when his demand was refused by her parents.
As a result she received multiple wounds on her head and body, and died on the spot.
Asif Khan, in a bid to give an impression that his wife had committed suicide filled her mouth with pills.
He also opposed autopsy to hide his crime, but the police went through the legal process on the request of her family.
The autopsy report suggested that the woman received multiple injuries to her head with a blunt weapon which claimed her life. After the autopsy the body was handed over to her family for burial.
