Man kills wife, buries her secretly
MIRPURKHAS: A man along with his accomplices killed his wife in Digri and secretly buried her body in a graveyard two weeks ago.
A murder case had been lodged with Digri police, but accused were at large, said Noor Hassan Miano, a cousin of the deceased, at a hunger strike camp outside the press club here on Monday. He observed a token hunger strike along with his relatives and rights activists to put pressure on the police to arrest the “influential” accused.
Noor Hassan told journalists that his cousin Zohra Miano had married Mir Amanullah Talpur alias Mir Rizwan 14 months ago of her own free will in Digri. But her father-in-law Wali Mohammad Talpur was not happy with the marriage.
He said that Mir Amanullah with the help of his father and others had killed and buried her secretly in the graveyard of shrine Sarwar Shah near the village of Kario Ghanwar, taluka Golarchi, Badin.
Noor Hassan said that when he asked Mir Amanullah about Ms Zohra Miano, he said that she had gone missing. He said that would trace her in a day, but he disappeared.
Later, Noor Hassan came to know that she had been murdered and buried. He said that gunmen were deployed in the graveyard who did not allow them to dig out body of his cousin.
He said that on March 22, Abdul Razzaq Miano, victim`s brother, had lodged a case under sections 364 and 34 PPC with Digri police, nominating Mir Amanullah Talpur and his father.
But police failed to arrest the accused, he said, accusing the supervising police of protecting Mir Aftab Talpur because the outlaws were influential.
Abdul Razzaq Miano had submitted an application before the sessions judge of Mirpurkhas requesting him to order autopsy and the judge had written a letter to the sessions judge of Badin to appoint a judicial magistrate for autopsy.
When contacted, SPO of Digri Mir Aftab Talpur said that the case of kidnapping for murder had been lodged and police had submitted letters to the sessions court and DG health services of Sindh to form a medical board for exhumation of the body.
He expressed the hope that a date for autopsy would be fixed in two days.
He rejected the allegation that police were supporting the accused. Police were deployed at the graveyard, he said.
