Man kills wife
ISLAMABAD: A woman died here on Sunday after the husband poisoned her, police said. The husband has claimed that she committed suicide by taking poison.
Police said Marsanita, 30, a housemaid who lived in sector G-8, was brought to hospital by her husband, Iqbal Massih, a sweeper at Pak-Secretariat, on Sunday afternoon. The wife died a few minutes after she was brought to the hospital.
The hospital staff called police after Mr Massih told them that his wife had taken poison. The body was shifted to mortuary for autopsy, and it was handed over to victim’s heirs after postmortem.
Police said the husband was taken to Margalla police station where during interrogation he disclosed he poisoned his wife, saying they had frequent quarrels over petty domestic issues. The police quoted the victim’s brother as saying that the couple married eight years ago and had three children. The police said the husband was detained and a case would be registered against him on the complaint of the victim’s brother.
