Man acquitted in daughter’s rape case

Additional District and Sessions Judge (East) Sanaullah Ghori, giving benefit of doubt, acquitted a man from the charges of raping his 11-year-old daughter.

According to prosecution, Mohammed Yaseen allegedly raped his 11-year-old daughter in the limits of Zaman Town police station on May 14, 2008. The police arrested him after lodging an FIR (163/08) against him under Section 371(1) of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of Qamrunnisa, mother of the victim.

The statement of the victim Ayesha was recorded by the judicial magistrate concerned under Section 164 of the CrPC. However, medical examination conducted by Dr Farida Mobeen of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre proved negative.

The report said that vaginal swab as per medical examination from the concerned department report was negative, which proved that no rape was committed. Giving benefit of doubt, the judge acquitted Mohammed Yaseen.
