Man accused of cruelty to wife remanded

MIRPURKHAS: Civil judge and judicial magistrate of taluka Digri on Wednesday remanded the accused Sadiq Manganhar in judicial custody for 14 days. He was arrested for chopping off nose of his wife with a sharp blade.

The accused, a resident of Tando Jan Mohammad, had cut nose of his wife Gulnaz, 20, with a blade as a result she sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a local rural health centre.

Akbar Manganhar, father of victim woman lodged an FIR under section 334 PPC with Tando Jan Mohammad police accusing Sadiq of being a drug addict. He said that his daughter was beaten up a number of times by the accused in the past also.

The accused told journalists that his wife did not respect his relatives, therefore, he thrashed her.
