‘Love’ claims lives of two women

LAHORE – Three people including two women were killed over various disputes in different police areas in the City on Sunday.

Police investigators said Naveed alias Bhola Masih allegedly gunned down his 20-year-old sister Naseem alias Shamim Bibi for honor in Sundar police area. They said the accused already snubbed his deceased sister several times to avoid indulging in such affairs but to no avail. On the day of incident, the accused Bhola arrived at his home located near Meter Factory again asked his sister to shun this immoral practice. They scuffled over the dispute, which infuriated the accused, who shot her to death. The body was shifted to the City morgue for autopsy while the case had been lodged against Bhola with no arrest till filing of this report.

Similarly, Javed Iqbal, a resident of Dhoni Chand Manawan, in connivance with his sister-in-law Raheela poisoned his wife Ramzana Bibi to death. According to neighbors and policemen accounts, the accused allegedly developed illicit relations with his sister-in-law Raheela and both wished to clear their way.

“They poisoned Ramzana to death to fulfill their unlawful desires,” police sources said, adding a case had been lodged against Javed and Raheela on the statement of Amanat, brother of the deceased.

Meanwhile, one Ghulam Muhammad of Chungi Amar Sidhu was accidentally gunned down by two people on marriage ceremony in Factory Area police limits. Police investigators said the deceased frequently rebuked Shoaib and Khadim, friends of the bridegroom, from indulging in aerial firing but they continued.

“During their unlawful activity, a bullet pierced into the body of Ghulam Muhammad, who died instantly,” they added. Later, police lodged a case under section 302 of PPC against the both culprits. They have been arrested and being interrogated by the police concerned. Further investigations are underway.

Bodies handed over to families: The bodies of the deceased dacoits, who were gunned down by police personnel in Johar Town area, have been handed over to their heirs on Sunday after conducting their post mortem.

The deceased namely Aziz and Rizwan, residents of Okara and Narowal, were shot dead at a police picket. Reportedly, they were members of a notorious gang involved in more than 80 cases of armed robberies, robbery-cum-rape, robbery-cum-murders and kidnapping for ransom.

The post mortem report says that the bullets were fired by the policemen riddled into their chests, which led their instant death.

Similarly, the Kotwali Police have yet to conduct post mortem of a 22-year-old alleged robber Abid, of Garhi Shahu. According to detail, Inspector Fiaz and ASI Rafiq Dogar arrested Abid and recovered robbed bikes from his possession. The CIA police claimed that the man died at Mian Nawaz Sharif Hospital while sources said that Abid died due to police torture while in custody. The heirs of the deceased alleged that the CIA Kotwali demanded Rs30, 000 for his release. Further investigations are underway.

Couple sustain burn injures in cylinder blast: A 30-year-old man and his wife sustained multiple burn injuries during a cylinder blast, which took place due to gas leakage in the wee hours on Sunday in Islampura police area. Both injured namely Muhammad Naveed and Samina, residents of Krishan Nagar, were shifted to the burn unit of the Mayo Hospital where their condition was told critical. The main cause of the blast was gas leakage.
