Lecturer held in rape case
KHAIRPUR: A lecturer of Government Shaheed Abdul Rehman Girls Degree College, Khuhra, has been arrested on a charge of criminally assaulting a girl student.
The girl contacted DPO of Khairpur Khadim Hussain Rind and informed him about the incident. The DPO asked the Gambat police to register an FIR on the complaint of the girl and arrest the accused.
The police arrested lecturer Mazhar Hussain on Saturday and registered an FIR against him. The girl stated in the FIR that she had gone to the college on Friday to get her Higher Secondary School certificate.
She said that the lecturer asked her to wait in an empty room till he collected her certificate. She alleged that when the lecturer returned, he locked the door and criminally assaulted her.
Talking to media reporters at the lock-up of the police station, the lecturer rejected the allegation and said that he treated his students as his children.
