Kiln owner ‘detains’ worker’s daughter

TOBA TEK SINGH: Brick kiln worker Shahzad Masih said at a press conference that he and his daughter were illegally detained by Sardar Amjad Dogar of Pattoki, Kasur.

He said he managed to flee, but his 13-year-old daughter was still in Dogar’s custody.

Kiln workers representative Riaz Mushtaq and Labour Party Pakistan representative Tariq Mahmood said Masih was working at Dogar’s kiln along with his family, but he left work and returned to his village, Chak 152-GB in Toba, because of Dogar’s cruelty.

They said Masih and her daughter were picked up by Dogar and his men from his village on Sept 4. They said the police were not taking action against the accused.
