Killed for ‘honour’
After passing the Women Protection Ordinance, the National Assembly and Provincial Assembly should have taken some serious measure to stop this brutal act too. There must be a death penalty for the person who commits this cruelty for his so-called ‘honour’. It is a positive sign for the poor girls of rural Sindh that the Chief Minister’s Advisor on Home has taken strong notice of the murder of the bride and ordered the DPO Shahdad Kot to arrest the groom and his accomplices. About time we took notice. -MAHA E DARAKHSHAN, Karachi, via e-mail, January 25.
