KHUJ calls off strike
PESHAWAR, FEBRUARY 11: The Khyber Union of journalists called off its hunger strike on Thursday, but pledged to continue its struggle for the freedom of the press.
The strike was observed for five days at the Peshawar Press Club.
The KHUJ president, Shaukat Yusafzai, called upon the government to abolish the information ministry, unshackle the electronic media and accept the other related demands of the journalists.
He also demanded an end to contract system practised by most newspaper establishments.
