KHAIRPUR: The Khairpur police have booked 11 journalists on the charges of rioting. The journalists included Mithal Khohro, Zahid Mirani, Imdad Pirzada, Miskin Samitio, Sikandar Samitio, Asghar Kanasiro, Ghul Shad Tunio, Molvi Muhammad Siddique, Safdar Sehto and Sanaullah Baloch. The police conducted raids but failed to arrest them.
Journalists condemned the act of the Khairpur police and said the police lodged FIRs against journalists who were performing their duties during the violent protests after the assassination of Benazir Bhutto. DPO Khairpur Fida Hussain Mastio, however, assured the local journalists that the cases would be withdrawn.
