KASUR, Jan 27: A youth fell a victim to honour killing here on Sunday in Phoolnagar police precincts.

Reports said Arshad of Baghyana village had allegedly developed illicit relations with ‘K’ of Naniyanwala Khu.

The family of the girl time and again admonished Arshad but he did not mend his ways.

On Saturday night, when Arshad came to see his beloved, relatives of ‘K’, including Inayat, Ashraf and Idrees caught him, took him to their outhouse and tortured him. Later, they sprinkled kerosene oil on Arshad and set him ablaze.

He was referred to Lahore Jinnah hospital owing to his critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday. kite-flyers: A child was killed and seven were injured in incidents relating to kite flying over the last one week.

Eleven-year-old Mohsin Ali of Baghdadia Colony fell from the roof of his house when he was flying kites.

He was taken to Lahore General Hospital where he succumbed to his head injuries. Separately, Sajad (12), Bilal (10), Humayoun (12), Shahzain (10), Shaukat and Jamshed were injured while flying kites.

It has also been learnt that kite string is being sold in the city secretly.

The social circles have demanded that the district administration look into the problem.

TWO DIE ON ROAD: Two motorcyclists were crushed to death and two others were injured seriously in separate incidents here on Sunday.

In the first incident, Shah Rukh and Ahsan Ali were going from Vehari to Lahore by a motorcycle when a speeding container hit their motorcycle near Pattoki Bypass. As a result, Shah Rukh was killed at the scene and Ali was injured seriously.

In another incident, Akbar and Shabbir were going to Pattoki from Phool Nagar by a motorcycle when they rammed into a speeding truck coming from the opposite direction near Parnavan Bypass. As a result, Akbar died at the scene and Shabbir was injured seriously.
