KARACHI: Writer dies in accident

KARACHI, January 24 2006: Prominent writer, intellectual and critic Prof Riaz Siddiqui, 62, died on Monday January 23 at the Jinnah Hospital, where he was shifted after being injured in a traffic accident on Sharea Faisal in the morning.

He has left the widow, a son and a daughter. He was buried in the Liaquatabad graveyard.

Prof Siddiqui, who was Urdu teacher at the Government College, Stadium Road, had written more than six books on literature, and contributed scores of articles to magazines and newspapers.
