KARACHI: Sindh Caretaker Minister for Population Welfare, Nadira Panjwani has said that it is most essential that people should be sensitised with regard to population control programme as small family is a blessing.
Talking to a group of women NGO’s at her office on Wednesday, the minister said that the role of media was most imperative to achieve the goal of bringing population growth rate in Sindh down from 2.4% to 1.9%.
Ms Panjwani said that she would soon meet with the motivators of the Population Welfare Department and with the collaboration of Auqaf Department, an Inter-Action Programme would also be launched at various Urs celebrations in the province for Zaireens and Family Welfare Workers.
She said that Population Control Programme Welfare Schemes would also be initiated through Zakat Committees at District and Taluka levels. She emphasised upon womenfolk to promote small family concept amongst their community.
