KARACHI — “Government believes in the freedom of judiciary and media and all four pillars of democracy should work for the progress of country”, Sindh Governor Dr lshratul Ebad said this while addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Administration Block at Sindh High Court Building here on Wednesday.
“The rule of law is essential for the democracy and economic development particularly after a phase bf tragedies and turmoil that our country experienced recently, he said.
He further said that the important legal and judicial reforms undertaken by the Government with the donors’ active support were aimed at allowing its full He said that the judiciary sector needs reformation as for as the administration was concerned. The government was undertaking steps to improve that by strongly directing its actions towards strengthening the rule of law, supported by the international community, through the assistance of several other partners.
He said Federal Government in collaboration with Asian Development Bank had launched a massive programme for its reformation and he added with the cooperation of Asian Development Bank a nine-floor administration building work would start soon. Chief Justice of Sindh Muhammad Afzal Somro, justice Muneeb Ahmed Khan and Justice Azizullah Memon also addressed on the occasion.
While he also laid down the foundation stone of the administration block at Court building.
