Journalists without valid papers to be deported

ISLAMABAD- Pakistan is considering deporting the journalists found near Pak-Afghan borders or who cross into Afghanistan without valid documents in violation of the immigration laws.

“We are considering that if some incident occurs where a journalist is found near the border or crosses the border without papers we will have to cancel his visa and ask him to leave the country,” Foreign Office spokesman Riaz Muhammad Khan told journalists.

He said that Government was also thinking to initiate action against the agencies for which these journalists were working. He said a couple of journalists were in trouble that crossed inside Afghanistan without valid documents. “The Government of Pakistan is trying to help them.”

However, he said, the journalists trying to get into Afghanistan without proper permission and documents, were violating their own countries’ immigration laws too. “Please advise your colleagues not to be adventurists,” the spokesman asked journalist.
