Journalist’s wife, left in shock after police raid, dies

KHAIRPUR – Wife of senior journalist of Nawa-I-Waqt Rabnawaz Siyal passed away on Sunday allegedly after a shock she got due to a police raid at her home and brutally torturing her husband and other family member.

A large number of people including journalists and political and social leaders attended the funeral prayer. On the occasion, Siyal said that after the cruel act of police, his wife was in great shock which eventually claimed her life. He lamented that so for the government had not taken notice of the incident and demanded President Asif Ali Zardari, Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah and Supreme Court to provide him justice and warned of self-immolation in front of the Press Club in case no justice is done.

Mother of three commits suicide: A 30-year woman, who was mother of three, committed suicide at village Banhon Chaang of Taluka Faiz Gunj on Sunday. Irshad Begum consumed pesticide due to domestic problems. She was rushed to a local hospital but couldn’t survive. However, police took Iqbal Chaang, husband of the deceased woman, into custody to probe the death. No FIR was lodged.
