Journalists urged to respect community sentiments
KARACHI: Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister Sharmila Farooqi said that journalists should understand the importance of their role and make sure that their news items do not cause harm to any community.
She was speaking at the concluding ceremony of three-day training workshop organised by Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF) here Friday, attended by journalists belonging to print and electronic media. Referring to Sughra Solangi and Shehla Bibi, she said that the media should highlight such personalities as well, adding that their work reached the USA but they are not highlighted in our media. She said that community radio stations were the need of the hour but added that development should be carried out responsibly so that interests of one community do not clash with interests of another one.
