Journalist’s murder – question mark on police credibility

ISLAMABAD: Interior Secretary Syed Kamal Shah said on Saturday the Islamabad police’s credibility will remain under doubt unless they arrest murderers of Muhammad Ismail Malik, a senior journalist. Talking to a group of journalists at his office, the secretary said he was closely monitoring the developments in the investigation of the murder case. The senior superintendent of police (SSP), who was also present in the office, said the investigation team was probing all aspects of the case and the culprits would soon be brought to book. The SSP said it was premature to give a timeframe for the arrest of the murderers because the investigation was underway. The journalist who met the secretary include: Mushtaq Minhas, the Rawalpindi/Islamabad Press Club president, his vice Uroosa Alam and general secretary Afzal Butt.
