Journalists meet NWFP governor expressing concern over journalist’s kidnapping

PESHAWAR, January 03 2006: A 6-member delegation of local journalist headed by a senior journalist and President of Peshawar Press Club, Syed Bukhar Shah, called on the NWFP Governor Khalil-ur-Rehamn here at Governor’s House on Monday January 2.

Members of the delegation expressed their concern over the kidnapping of a tribal journalist Hayatullah in North Waziristan Agency.

The governor while responding to their grievances said that the respective political administration is making their utmost efforts from the very first day of the occurrence to identify the kidnappers and ensure safe and early recovery of Hayatullah.

He assured the delegation that the administration was fully alert and pursuing the issue vigorously. Secretary to Governor Arbab Muhammad Arif was also present on the occasion.

The governor advised the journalist community to be confident of the efforts of the political administration and exercise restraint in this regard.
