Journalists’ entry in Orakzai banned
KALAYA: The political administration has imposed a ban on the entry of journalists into the Orakzai Agency, sources said on Thursday.The sources said that every vehicle at the Boya and Ziara checkposts was being checked and journalists were refused entry into the Orakzai Agency.
When contacted, the in-charge Ziara checkpost, Subedar Sarfaraz said that he had been directed by the political agent not to allow any journalist to enter the Orakzai tribal region.
He said that journalists would have to obtain no objection certificate from the office of the Political Agent for entering the Orakzai Agency. An emergency meeting of the members of the Orakzai Press Club condemned the decision and warned to stage a sit-in as protest outside the Governor’s House, Peshawar, on Nov 13.
