Journalists boycott PA proceedings against land grabbing
LAHORE: Journalists from the Media Gallery in Punjab Assembly boycotted the assembly proceedings and held a protest demonstration against the mafia allegedly from the PML-N which had illegally occupied their plots at Journalist Housing Colony with connivance of police.
The boycott and protest was carried out after squatters’ mafia at Journalist Housing Society tortured Lahore Press Club’s on-duty Assistant Manager Muhammad Aqueel, and the SHO and DSP of Harbanspura refused to register cases against the accused.
The media persons both from print and electronic boycotted the assembly proceedings which had budgetary grants on its agenda and the chief minister was sitting in the session. The journalists gathered in front of the Punjab Assembly building and raised slogans against PML-N MPAs and MNAs on charges of patronising Qabza Group at Journalists Housing Society.
