Journalist Muhammad Irshad and Advocate Arshad Ahmed Appointed as Commissioners to KP Information Commission
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has appointed journalist Muhammad Irshad and Advocate Arshad Ahmed as commissioners to the KP Information Commission.
The appointments were made under Section 24(4)(b) of the KP Right to Information Act, 2013. They will serve for three years or until they reach the age of 65, whichever comes first.
The law mandates the inclusion of professionals from civil society with at least 15 years of experience in mass communication, academia, or legal backgrounds as one of the commissioners. Irshad’s position has been vacant since July 2022.
The provincial cabinet had approved the appointments in its last meeting.
