Journalist injured in shootout while covering Karachi rally

Ehsan Kohati, a senior reporter for “Waqt News” TV channel, received bullet wounds while covering a Muharram rally, on November 27, 2011, in Karachi, the capital city of Sindh province of Pakistan.

Irfan Ahmed, a reporter of Waqt News told PPF that Kohati received two bullets, one in chest and another in abdomen. Kohati was rushed to a nearby hospital where he received immediate treatment and is now in stable condition.

Eight people including Kohati were injured and two were killed in an attack on a rally of Shiite Muslim mourners on the first day Islamic calendar month of Muharram.
