Journalist, colleague killed in road mishap

HYDERABAD-The News Editor of Daily Ibrat, Ghulam Qadir Memon, was killed in a road accident along with a colleague at Nooriabad in the wee hours on May 6, 2003.

News Editor of Sindhi daily was going to Karachi when their car No. G-6291 collided with a trawler no-LSA-3196 at Sultan Jakhro Hotel in Nooriabad.

The collision resulted in death of Ghulam Qadir Memon and another member of circulation Qamar Din Kalhoro while the driver was seriously injured and admitted to Civil Hospital Hyderabad.

The deceased left behind widows and 5 children to mourn his death. His body was taken to hometown in Arazi in District Dadu. He started his career in journalism as Sub-Editor in Ibrat and later appointed as news editor of the daily.

The meeting of governing body of Hyderabad Press Club condoled the death and expressed sorrow with the grieved family and paid tributes to his services for journalism.
