Journalism award launched
Karachi.Jan.17:The Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF) with the supÂport of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation (Unesco) launched second annual Gender in ‘Journalism Award 2004 for print media journalists.
All articles published between -January 1 to December 31, 2003 on gender-sensitive reports by ‘hale and female journalists are ,eligible for entry in the award. PPF secretary-general Owais Aslam Ali has notified that one a 1 ward for excellence in gender-sensitive reporting will be Open to both males and females among the entrants.
The second award will be for ‘outstanding coverage of any issue ‘by a female journalist. This award will recognise the competence and contributions of women to journalism.
News, articles, columns and features published in Pakistan print media during 2003 will he eligible for entry.
The entries are to reach the coordinator of die award, Pakistan Press Foundation, press centre, Sahara-e-Kamal Ataturk , Karachi 15 January 31, 2004. The award will be adjudged by ;i panel of Eight media Professionals.-
