JI slates ban on NW, The Nation ads
HYDERABAD – The Jamaat-iÂIslami Hyderabad on March 15 condemned the govt ban on advertisements of Nawa-i-Waqt and The Nation and called for immediate lifting of the ban.
JI Hyderabad Ameer Abdul Waheed Oureshi, Shaikh Shaukat Ali, Dr, Fawad Ahmed, Rao Masood Ali Khan and Rana Mehmood Ali Khan in their joint statement termed the government decision as attempt on freedom of expression.
They said that ban of advertisements to these newspapers proved that government is not serious in listening to criticism.
They called for immediate lifting of ban on advertisement and asked the government to stop anti press decisions.
