Jasarat office raided

PESHAWAR- The bureau office of daily Jasarat was raided by police in the afternoon under the supervision of a magistrate.

NWFP Home Secretary, Syed Mazhar Ali Shah, when contacted expressed ignorance about the incident.

The raid was ordered when the police allegedly informed that the pamphlets having the text of blasphemous letter were prepared in the bureau office of Jasarat.

The daily which has recently been brought out from Islamabad after Karachi, is owned by a religio-political party. The bureau chief was said to have left Peshawar for his native village.

The office of daily Jasarat is located in the inner city and it was locked and its staff had also left the premises, witnesses said.

A contingent of police and F.C. has been deployed around the office to keep a check on the visitors. An eye-witness said that a prominent leader of a political party had guided the police to carry out the raid.
