Jabbar sympathises with Editor
KARACHI- The Adviser to the Chief Executive on national affairs information and media development, Javed Jabbar has sent the following message to M.A. Zuberi, Editor, daily Recorder, Karachi.
“I am addressing this message to convey all my sympathies to you at the destructive attack on the office, technical equipment and other facilities of your esteemed newspaper as a result of the arson on 18th May 2000 by a mob. “The Government strongly condemns this criminal and outrageous assault on the premises and the property of one of the Pakistan’s most respected newspapers, and the attempt to threaten the lives of all those who were working on the premises at the time of attack.
“I would like to assure you that all attempts by the authorities are being made to identify those responsible for this attack and to hold them to account. Losses suffered as a result of any delay by the authorities in being unable to provide protection to your colleagues and your property are greatly regretted. Every effort will be made to prevent the occurrence of such an incident in the future. May the business Recorder continue to publish and flourish without hindrance in the future.”
