ITCN-2003 to be held in August

KARACHI- The organisers of Information Technology Commerce Network (ITCN) Exhibition and Conference Asia announced on November 25, 2002 that their third mega event would be held in August 2003.

“After a successful ITCN-2002, we have decided to organise the same event next year from August 9 to 11,” an ITCN statement said. It added that the preparations for the next year’s exhibition were under way. The ITCN 2002 Exhibition was held in August at Expo Centre, while the conference of the same event was organised at a local hotel.

The three-day mega event, held for the second consecutive year, attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors including foreign delegates, local and foreign entrepreneurs.

The event organisers claimed that some 600 foreign delegates attended the ITCN Asia 2002. “The ITCN 2003 would be different from 2002 as for this event we are inviting IT professionals and entrepreneurs from across the world,” said the statement.

The event would jointly be organised by the Sindh IT Board, Jamal Yellow Pages and E-commerce Gateway Singapore. In ITCN-2002 some 150 local and foreign companies participated in the exhibition, which had over 350 stalls in all the three – A, B & C – halls of the Expo Centre. The organisers dedicated the first day of the exhibition for exhibitors and visitors from trade and corporate sectors.

General public and students availed chance to experience the biggest IT exhibition event of the country on the last two days. The conference sessions of the event were held at a local hotel, which continued till last day in different sessions.

Federal ministers, including Shaukat Aziz, Abdul Razak Dawood and Dr Ata-ur-Rehman, chaired different sessions of the conference. Governor State Bank of Pakistan, Dr Ishrat Hussain, and Sindh Minister for Finance Dr Abdul Hafiz Sheikh also presided over two other sessions of the conference.
