International conference on IT from 28th

LAHORE- Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) and Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) are jointly holding a three-day international conference on IT Industry and IT Education in Pakistan from December 28 to December 30 in the city.

The conference is aimed at creating awareness among the international experts about vast opportunities exist in Pakistani IT market and crop of new IT experts being trained in Pakistan. This conference will also provide the IT experts and market leaders in the international industry to explore avenues of investment in Pakistan’s IT sector and IT education projects.

On top of everything, the conference aims at developing cooperation between the Pakistani and foreign experts in exchange of information and launching new venture for joint research in the field.

This is the fifth IEEE Multi-Topic conference. IEEE is one of the leading US institutes, which has contributed a lot in bringing about IT revolution in US. The organizing committee of the conference hopes that with this event, new avenues of cooperation will open up for Pakistani IT experts and they will be able to plan Pakistan’s IT industry future in a befitting manner.

Delegates from Middle East, Australia, UK, US and other European countries, besides representatives of Pakistani IT companies and IT professionals, will be converging in Lahore to attend this three-day mega event which will be inaugurated by Federal Science and Technology Minister Dr Atta-ur-Rehman. Chairman PTCL Akhter Ahmed Bajwa will be presiding the inaugural session and also deliver a keynote speech on ‘Status of Telecommunication industry in Pakistan.’

On the first day of the conference, in tutorial sessions, Kayyum M. Kahliq from Western Illinois University USA, Mahmood H Nagrial Coordinator Designated Research Group, University of Western Sydney, Nepean Australia, Amir Hussain University of Stirling UK, Umar Saif Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Asrar A Sheikh Bell Labs Chair in Telecommunication King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals Saudi Arabia will deliver lectures on variety of subjects.

On the second day, papers will be read on power system and supplies, computer network and algorithms, digital signal processing, power electronics devices and mechatronics and modeling and control. At the end of second day of the conference, a panel discussion will be held on 1T education in Pakistan.

On the last day of the conference, three delegates and experts from different countries will read papers on different subjects and will deliberate on different’ aspects of IT industry in Pakistan.

It is worth mentioning that the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has selected 20 genera1 manager level officials of different departments from all over the country to attend this three-day event.
