Interior ministry launches web site

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has established its official web site in order to provide information regarding the activities of the ministry and its sub-organizations. Minister for Interior Lt. Gen. Moin Uddin Haider inaugurated the web site.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has provided funds worth one million dollars to purchase computers for the ministry.

The minister told the reporters that by visiting this web site the citizens can get information about Pakistan Rangers, Coast Guards, Capital Development Authority, Immigration and Passports, National Police Academy, National Police Foundation, National Database Registration Authority (Nadra), National Alien Registration Authority and jails of the four provinces.

He said that detailed information about visa policy, issuance of passport adding visa forms could be down loaded from the web site. He said that information regarding Exit Control List has also been placed in the web site. He said that the ministry is gradually heading towards the concept of e-government.
