Implementation Tribunal for Newspaper Employees to hear cases in Peshawar on May 13

ISLAMABAD- The Implementation Tribunal for Newspaper Employees (ITNE), presently holding its proceedings in Peshawar, will hear on May 13 all cases which had been earlier fixed for May 6.

The cases on May 6 had been adjourned due to meeting of the ITNE Chairman Justice Jawed Nawaz Khan Gandapur with the Federal Minister for Labour, Manpower and Overseas Pakistanis.

The Tribunal was actually scheduled to hold a court in Peshawar from May 6 to May 11, for hearing cases of the newspaper employees and the newspaper owners. The Tribunal will now hear the cases at its Peshawar Circuit on May 13.

On the intervention of the Tribunal, the management of The Frontier Post, Peshawar has started payment in instalments to its seven ex-employees. Payment of the first instalment of Rs 20,000 has been made by the respondent management before the Tribunal for apportionment among the litigant employees.

On May 7, 10 different cases against The Frontier Post, Peshawar were fixed before the Tribunal.

The ITNE has also issued a notice of contempt to the management of another newspaper at Peshawar, if it failed to comply with the orders of the Tribunal by May 13.
