IHC again issues restraining orders to private TV
ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice (CJ) Islamabad High Court (IHC) Muhammad Anwar Khan Kasi on Thursday while issuing stay order once again directed a private TV channel to file reply till December 2 as to why it had been continuing with defamatory and baseless allegations against Jang/Geo Group despite the October 31 restraining orders.
Requesting the court to initiate contempt of court proceedings against the respondents, the Independent Media Corporation (IMC), through its counsel Faisal Iqbal Khan advocate, stated that the channel had been continuing with its baseless allegations against the Jang/Geo group despite court’s order on October 31 which restrained it from levelling, printing, publishing or broadcasting any of the statement defamatory to the IMC. IHC CJ would hear this contempt of court application today (Friday).
