Hoti orders police to facilitate journalists
PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Ameer Haider Hoti on Tuesday asked the police high-ups to direct subordinates to facilitate journalists in performing their professional duties.
Khyber Union of Journalists President Arshad Aziz Malik and other senior journalists had drawn the attention of the chief minister through a memorandum about the inappropriate attitude of the police towards journalist community. Taking notice of the complaints, the chief minister directed the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa inspector general of police and capital city police officer to facilitate journalists in performing their professional duties. The chief minister said the government was aware of the problems and difficulties faced by the journalists. He said the media personnel were playing a vital role in the fight against terrorism.
