Hindus, Sikhs, Christians participate in Geo’s Shehr-e-Ramazan

KARACHI: Hindu, Sikh and Christian community participated in the Geo TV’s special transmission ‘Pehchan Ramazan’ on the occasion of ‘victory day of Makkah.’

The members of Sikh, Hindu and Christian community said that they respected the religion of Islam and felt great pleasure by participating in the ‘Shehr-e-Ramazan’ programme as they did not feel themselves as minority and they all had tied in one chain of human relations. They expressed these views while talking to renowned broadcaster Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain in Geo’s special transmission Pehchan Ramazan on Thursday.

Dr Aamir said that the victory day of Makkah is a message of supremacy of human rights rising above all the races and colours and the minority had been invited in the ‘Shehr-e-Ramazan’ for promoting this universal message of Holy Prophet (SWA) and to attract the attention of international community to this message. He said that it was the first time in the history of media that minorities were participating in a Ramazan transmission to express goodwill with the followers Islam.

During the programme, the guests informed the audience and viewers about their own religious rites and beliefs. On this occasion the scenes of mutual love and harmony were witnessed among the international religions in the Shehr-e-Ramazan programme. On the time of ‘Azan’ the minority girls covered their heads and the minority guests restrained themselves from eating till the time of Iftar. The host and the audience appreciated their sentiments and termed it the symbol of respect of international religion.

On this occasion, Dr Aamir Liaquat announced donation of Rs50,000 and Rs25,000 for a Hindu woman cancer patient and brain tumour Christian girl Nazia respectively for their treatment and distributed gifts among all the guests.

The parents of Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Hussain Syed especially participated in this programme to meet their favourite scholar, Dr Aamir Liaquat. They said that they had old desired to meet him and now it had fulfilled now.

The series of financial help to the deserving people on behalf of the philanthropists continued for victim of acid burned woman Nasreen, victim of fraud Kuasar. Dr Aamir Liaquat announced to install a cabin for the disabled son of Nasreen for employment on behalf of Mehmooda Sultana Foundation and distributed relief packets among the deserving people.

Meanwhile, the victory day of Makkah was celebrated with great respect in the Shehr-e-Ramazan. On this occasion Dr Aamir Liaquat, by highlighting the importance of Makkah victory, said that Holy Prophet (SWA) by declaring general amnesty for his worst enemies on that day gave the message to the world that clemency is an essential part of Islamic education and relation of humanity is a relation above all.
