HCCI call for extension of IT deadline
HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry has demanded that the government should extend deadline for filing income tax returns and statements to Oct 30 on account of extraordinary flood situation.
The first meeting of the newly elected executive committee of the chamber held here on Wednesday said that the business community had been seriously affected by the floods and it had become almost impossible to file income tax returns and statements by Oct 15.
The meeting adopted a unanimous resolution demanding the government extend deadline to Oct 30. Due to slump in business activities, tax-payers were not in a position to pay any additional taxes, it said.
The meeting expressed concern over 25pc income tax increase on Association of Persons and demanded that previous rates be restored.
