Hasan Saeed’s death condoled

KARACHI: At a condolence meeting on Thursday, Dawn’s editorial staff expressed their deep sense of grief over the death of senior journalist Hasan Saeed, who died of a heart attack in Dhaka on Tuesday.

A resolution presented at the meeting said:

“This meeting of the editorial staff of Dawn expressed its profound sense of grief at the sudden death of their colleague, Hasan Saeed. As its Dhaka-based correspondent for years he rendered invaluable services to Dawn. He was a seasoned and highly capable journalist and was held in great esteem by his colleagues. His sudden departure is a great loss to the profession of journalism in South Asia as well as to Dawn.

“His colleagues at Dawn offer their heart-felt condolences to his bereaved wife and children in Dhaka as well as to his grief-stricken father, brother and sisters in Karachi. May his soul rest in peace and may Allah give his family strength to bear this loss.”
