Growers protest against Motorway police

Hundreds of the growers and cultivators of Khairpur, Gambat and Khuhra towns agitated strongly against the Motorway Police. They alleged the Motorway Police was imposing heavy fines on the sugarcane loaded vehicles, which was illegal and annoying as there was no other way to transport the cane to the sugar mills. The protesters were chanting slogans and demanding the concerned authorities to come to their rescue otherwise they would be compelled to block the Sindh-Punjab road till the resolution of their problems created by the Motorway Police. However, after two hours blockade of the Punjab road, the Motorway authorities approached them and assured of the cooperation, which made them to end the protest.
