Govt to protect Daily Times, Aaj Kal, says Sherry
LAHORE: The government would ensure safety for the management and staff of Daily Times and Daily Aaj Kal, Federal Information Minister Sherry Rehman said in an interview aired on Monday.
Talking to ARY One World, Sherry said it was the responsibility of the government to protect and support the two newspapers. Daily Times and Aaj Kal Editor-in-Chief Najam Sethi understands that intolerance resulted from wrong policies of the previous government, Sherry said. Talking about Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s visit to the United States, Sherry said the visit was aimed at strengthening people-to-people contact between the two countries.
