“Governor Award soon for journalists
ARACHI: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad has issued directives for instituting Governor’s Award to best journalists, photographers and columnists to be given every year. Talking to a delegation of photo journalists association, the governor asked the provincial secretaries, information and finance to prepare a programme in this regard. He said a committee be formed for selection of recipients of award showing best performance in their respective fields. The delegation, led by its chairman Mujibur Rehman met the governor at Governor House. It included Zahid Hussain, Naqibur Rehman, Mohammed Arshad, Mohammed Adil Khan, lkram Mehdi, Syed Saiful Hasan, Fahim Raza and Mohammed Jamil.
Also present on the occasion were City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal, Principal Secretary. Saleem Khan, Secretary Information Fasihuddin, Secretary Finance Malik Israr, Special Secretary Javed Hanif and other officials. The governor had an appraisal about the housing needs of photo journalists and asked LDA, Board of Revenue and Cooperative department to examine this matter and make progress in this regard. He also issued necessary instructions to concerned authorities for treatment of injured photographer Shoaib Hasan and dialysis of photographer Akhtar Hussain.
