Government wants to curtail press freedom: Qureshi

BAHAWALPUR,May 23,2005: PPPP leader Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said the government wants to curtail the press freedom and the PPPP will resist it. Talking to journalists at Uch Sharif on May 22, he said the present system of government had totally failed, differences between the ‘state league’ and Gen Musharraf were now open. He said the Punjab government had also failed in maintaining law and order. Qureshi said conspiracies were being hatched in the Chief Minister’s House how to rig the local bodies election. He said PML-QA was not a political party while the MMA by supporting the 17th Amendment had damaged democracy. Earlier, Qureshi attended Chehlum of Makhdoom Syed Ghulam Asgher Bokhari, the late Sajjada Nasheen of Darbar Aalia Jalalia.
