Glowing tributes paid to Hameed Nizami

KARACHI — Speakers at a ceremony paid rich tributes to the founder of Nawa-i-Waqt, Hameed Nizami over his struggle for safeguarding the ideological foundations of Pakistan and vowed to follow his path.

The 12th Hameed Nizami Educational Awards distribution ceremony for the students of Matriculation and Intermediate, who got top positions in their courses was organised by the Farzandan-e-Pakistan at Arts Council, here on Wednesday.

Former Acting Chief Minister of Sindh Al-Haj Shamim Uddin, Chairman Higher Secondary Education Board Anwar Ahmed Zai, Professor Naushaba Siddiqi, Nawa-i-Waqt Resident Editor Saeed Khawar and Ali Akabar Gujar addressed the ceremony.

Anwaar Ahmed Zai, Chairman Higher Secondary Education Board said that the modern thinker and prominent poet of sub-continent, Allama Iqbal presented idea of Pakistan and later Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and Shaheed-i-Millat Khan Liaquat Ali Khan took the responsibility to establish Pakistan and now it is the responsibility of the young people of Pakistan that they should save its ideological foundations and follow the path of the these leaders.

He further said that Hameed Nizami chose journalism as profession and served this ideology during whole of his life.

Nawa-i-Waqt Resident Editor, Saeed Khawar expressed that our politicians have termed politics as a terrible thing for the people but we have to struggle for safeguarding Pakistan.

Professor, Naushaba Siddiqi paid glowing tributes to Hameed Nizami and praised Farzandan-e-Pakistan for organising this ceremony for the students who got top positions in Metric and Intermediate exams.

Al-Haj Shamim Uddin, former Acting Chief Minister Sindh said that we salute to Hameed Nizami for his role in Pakistan movement.

He said that Farzandan-e-Pakistan are the followers of Quaid-i-Azam, Liaquat Ali Khan as well as Hameed Nizami.

Earlier, Rana Ashfaq Rasool, President of Farzandan-e-Pakistan said that it is 12th education award for the winners of the Metric and Intermediate exams. He said we have been distributing the awards for 25 years without taking any grant from the government.

He also vowed that Farzandan-e-Pakistan will continue struggle to safeguarding the ideological foundations of Pakistan.
