Girls stop going to school after gang-rape

JAMSHORO: The parents of a 13-year-old schoolgirl who was allegedly gang-raped for four days by four men have appealed to the Supreme Court to take suo moto notice of the incident as no case has been registered while many girls have stopped going to school out of fear of meeting the same fate.

Victim Kainat’s father Ghulam Nabi Soomro and mother Zakia Soomro told newsmen all wanted four accused are close relatives of the EDO Health and he medical superintendent of the hospital and lady doctor are involved in the delay in not releasing the report of medical examination of the victim conducted by the lady doctor. The girl alleged that the medical examination was conducted after she made hue and cry.

According to Kainat, she was kidnapped from Mehar on Jan 10 when after her school she went to market to buy few things, where the culprits made her unconscious and kept her at one place in village Badami near Bhan Saeedabad. Gang-rape was committed there, she said. Later she was detained at one quarter of the TB Hospital of Kotri. The girl said she was gang-raped for four days, due to which she became unconscious.

Meanwhile, provincial adviser Hussain Bux Solangi arrived in Mehar on Wednesday and assured the victimís family of legal help.
