Girl sold or thuggery committed?

JAMSHORO: A teenaged girl who was sold to an old man escaped from his house on Tuesday in Moro city in what police said was an incident of thuggery.

According to reports, Ghaffar sold his 16-year-old daughter, Saima, for Rs 65,000 to his neighbour, 70-year-old Bashir Ahmed Leghari, resident of the Fruit Market, a few days back, for marriage. The girl was handed over to the old man, but she managed to run away from his house before Nikah could be performed. The old man lodged a complaint with the Moro police, complaining of cheating and thuggery. Police were of the view that this is a gang of the Punjab, who brought such girls and committed thuggery with old men.
