Gilani directs ministry to help poor artists
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has directed the Ministry of Health to provide free medical treatment to all poor and old artists of the country.
The prime minister in this regard approved the provision of free medical treatment to artists and artisans who are above 60 years of age and earning monthly income of less than Rs 10,000. This facility would be available on production of documents and undertaking that person was not receiving any financial assistance from any other organisation. Free medical treatment facility would also be available to those artists and artisans who are suffering from severe physical or mental disability.
